This is the GetWhys Slack bot — a native GetWhys integration. It is not Claude Tag (
@Claude in Slack with GetWhys MCP). If you want GetWhys inside Anthropic’s Claude-in-Slack experience, use Claude Tag instead. What you can do with the Slack integration
- Mention the GetWhys bot in any channel to ask a research question — get cited answers back in-channel
- Automatically create a Slack-linked Project so conversations are saved and searchable in GetWhys
- Pull Slack threads into Research Requests when you find a question that needs deeper investigation
Who can connect Slack
You need organization admin access in both Slack and GetWhys. Slack OAuth requires permission to install apps in your workspace.
Connecting Slack
In GetWhys, go to Integrations in the left navigation, find the Slack card, and click Connect. You’ll be redirected to Slack to authorize the GetWhys app — approve the requested permissions and you’ll return to GetWhys with the integration active. The Slack card then shows your workspace name, the date it was connected, and who connected it.Message for your Slack admin
If you need approval from a Slack workspace admin, send them something like this:Using the bot in Slack
Mention@GetWhys (or the bot name configured for your workspace) in any channel the bot is in. The bot will reply in-thread with a cited answer. Follow-up questions in the same thread keep context, just like a conversation in the web app.
To add the bot to a channel, type /invite @GetWhys from within the channel.
