What you can do with the Gong integration
- Auto-import new Gong call transcripts as they’re recorded
- Backfill historical calls by date range or by uploading a list of call IDs
- Filter which calls get sent to GetWhys via your existing Gong automation rules
- Search call content from Chat and have it cited like any other source
Who can connect Gong
You need admin access in both Gong and GetWhys.
Connecting Gong
In GetWhys, click Integrations in the left navigation
In GetWhys, click Integrations in the left navigation
Setting up the webhook
After connecting, you need to configure a webhook in Gong so new calls flow into GetWhys:- In GetWhys, open the Gong integration card and copy the webhook URL and public key
- In your Gong admin panel, create a new automation rule
- Paste the webhook URL into the destination
- Paste the public key into the verification field
- Set the call filter to control which calls get sent (e.g., calls in specific deal stages, calls by specific reps)
- Save the automation
Backfilling historical calls
- Sync by date range
- Backfill from CSV
- Open the Gong integration card
- Use the Sync Panel to pick a date range and call status filter (e.g., untracked, failed)
- Run the sync — GetWhys will queue the calls and process them in the background
How transcripts are used
Once processed, Gong transcripts behave like any document in Organization Data. They appear in Chat citations, can be mentioned with@, and are searchable from any query. See Organization Data.
